After Christmas

Right after Christmas we had snow... a lots!! Everything is covered with snow and quite pretty. It's cold, but I don't mind. We all got outside and shoveled snow crazy in the driveway and meantime Chester was running around in the snow. He loves snow and he also loves to eat snow, haha!!

So after shoveling snow, I decided to make snowman and small igloo for Chester next to each other. Snow was so sticky and really easy to work with. As I rolled the chunk of snow, it just gets bigger and bigger. I put three ball together and put a couple of buttons for his eyes, carrot for his nose, and piece of yarn for his mouth. Chester must have been unsure about this snowman and igloo, he barked at them and tried to destroy. It's has been a few days and my snowman is still alive even though it looks like little bit tilted. Let's hope he stays long...

We are still enjoying warmness of Christmas.
Happy Holidays!!
クリスマス後もしばらくクリスマスツリーやデコレーションはそのままでクリスマス雰囲気を楽しんでいます。
ハッピーホリデー!!

My First Tutu!

I have been soooooo busy with working on stocks for craft shows in November and early December. House was mess and I was physically so tired everyday. Now all Christmas craft shows are done, I'm back to regular job and I am able to do stuff. Off course I cleaned my house first and felt so good. Then I moved on to things I wanted to do including this tutu. (You know you love to create stuff, you wanna make this and this and this... but you don't have time to do all at once!)

All right, this is my first tutu!! I can't remember when, but girl I used to work with asked me if I can make tutu for her daughter. I was so excited for new creation, but I didn't have time back then. Recently I remeberd again and got tulle from fabric store and just made it! Making tutu was so much fun! I love the texture of it and love the color. Hope little girl enjoys my tutu. I'm pretty sure she will be so cute with it. After all, I fell in love with tulle and got more tulle today and thinking about another new creation. So stay tune!!

Merry Christmas

It's little late, but Merry Christmas to all!! I hope everybody had a great Christmas. My Christmas was pretty good even though there was no snow, clear sky and it didn't feel like a Christmas... Unfortunately Derek had to work on Christmas day. But he was given to Christmas dinner from his company and I was also invited. So we met up at on his break and went to Delta Hotel for the dinner. We had Cesar salad, Seafood chowder, Prime rib, and Dessert which I picked chef's samples of chocolate and he picked apple pie. Everything's delicious and we were stuffed. We opened Christmas present on Christmas Eve and our Christmas was nothing special this year, but it was nice for me to have break and I was doing easy at home with Chester (Our dog).

Here is our Christmas Home 2010. I put Christmas tree up late this year, so I think I'm gonna still enjoy Christmas tree and decorations for a while...

You have already seen my origami earrings, but tonight I'm making these origami ornaments. Each ornament has two crane birds. One is same size as my origami earrings, and other one is little bit bigger. I put them together with different types of beads and then origami paper is varnish to make them hard and waterproof.

Canada Day 2010

Happy Canada Day!!
I hope you had a wonderful Canada day. Weather was pretty good through a day, there was no fog and no wind to see beautiful fireworks. I had my booth set up at the bottom of the King Street. I really have to say thank you to all new customers I met that day and also thank you to friends that came to see me. I came to Saint John from Japan in 2004 without knowing any English and any people. And now I am finally settling in Canada and I made friends with many local people. Canada is my second home and I feel like I am a part of Canada!

P.S. I was interviewed by telegraph journal that day and you can check my comments on either newspaper on July 2nd or on thier website Uptown packed to celebrate Canada's 143rd birthday.

Cruise Ship, June 23

I can't remember exactly how many, but we already had some cruise ships come in Saint John. It's a picture of the one we had this week, June 23rd. On the way to Loyalist Plaza at this morning, I saw heavy fog covering on the bay of Fundy and I thought ''Oh, it's going to be an another foggy day of Saint John.'' But right after I passed the bridge and all I saw was clear blue sky. Our weather in Saint John is so unpredictable. I hope we have good weather througout the summer.

Here are some pictures of Uptown Saint John I took during that day.

And here is one of my customers I had. She really looked nice with my hat!!
Tomorrow, I am going to walk around the uptown and do some photoshooting with my friend.
Have a nice weekend to all and I'll be back at Loyalist Plaza next Wednesday.

Dragonfly Pins

Beaded dragonfly pins I just made are now available at Loyalist Plaza!! They shine under the sun. The size of these dragonflies are almost the same saze as actual ones.

Olympic!

Olympic started yesterday!!
I received an email from my mom yesterday saying, ''Are you going to see Olympic?''.
Oh I wish, but Vancouver is far from here even though I live in same country, Canada! Vancouver is located in west end in Canada, and Saint John is located in East end in Canada which takes about 8 hours by airplane. I remembered last time I went back to Japan, I flew from Halifax to Calgary to Vancouver, which took us about 8 hours to get there and another 8 hours to Tokyo. So Vancouver is almost half way from here and Japan.

Did you watch openning ceremony? I was a little disappointed at this ceremony, but it's just beginning. I'm pretty sure we will witness many exciting games!

Almost There!

I'm usually off on Thursday. I could sleep in this morning, but my dog, Chester had an appointment for nuetering today, so I got up as usual, then took him in a vet at 8 in the morning. After leaving him there, I got back to home and worked on my winter project that I was doing since last winter. I did pretty much all last year, but never get to chance to finish the ends. Maybe I should say I didn't really want to. Because I knew finishing ends are not so exciting and it takes so much time. It took for me a couple of hours to do it today, but I was able to focus them and almost, almost there!! I can't tell you what it is right now, but soon you will find out!
Soon after I finished the ends vet called me to get Chester. Chester isn't active enough to play like Jack Russell, but he is fine! Just It was a shame I never meet Chester Jr. though.
You can check out my Winter Project Photos to see how much I made progress.

Licca's Etsy Shop!

Hi!! Enjoying the winter?? I found that this winter in Saint John is so much nicer and warmer compare to last one. It gets cold sometime, but it's nice and sunny most of the time which makes me want to go outside a lot. Probably another reason why I don't feel so depressed this winter is that fun and lively dog, Chester came into my life. He is 7-months-old Jack Russell. We go bark park in Rockwood all the time where dog can play together inside the fence.
I'm writing this on the couch and he is sleeping right next to me. He is my angel...
Anyways...

I am pleased to annouce that my Etsy shop is now officially open!! I haven't listed many items, but I will slowly list more items. Off course everything on my shop is handmade by me. I will still taking your orders through email, too.

At this moment, I have crochet toques and origami earrings listed.
You can also check other toques from this link Licca's Toques and my customers from My Happy Customers. (Crochet)

Here is more photos of my Origami earrings. (Origami)
I am offering origami class for people who are interested in origami and Japanese culture since last winter. So far I had some classes in multi-cultural center at Saint John city market.

O.K. that's all for tonight!!
Time to make some tea.

Licca's Little Taste Of Asia Soup

This time of the year, it's good to have nice warm food like soup! Why don't you try Licca's Little Taste Of Asia Soup??

Licca's super easy tast like Asia soup!
*Ingredients*
Bean sprouts
Green onions
Dumpling for soup (or meat ball)
Chiken bouillons
Sesami oil (It's the key!)
*Recipe*
I usually don't measure when I cook, so here is approximately what I did!1. Boil water and put some chiken bouillons. It should taste like chiken soup. 2. Put little bit of sesami oil. This is a key to make this whole new asian taste.3. Put bean sprout, dumplings.4. Put green onions right befofe you turn heat off.
*Sesami oil is really usefull when you want to make something asian.*I only put bean sprout as a vegetable, but I think you could also put carrots, Chinese cabbage, or anything you could think of.

Headbands

Let me introduce this little thing... actually it's been a while since they joined as one of my products. They were one of my best sellers in 2009. There are various colors and beads combinations. Thinking about color combinations is the best time before I start making them. They are pretty streachy, so from little girl to adult can wear them.

Here is a link of my photos of Headbands.
